COPA SUDAMERICANA TO BE AWARDED TO CHAPECOENSE

It was a sad day today in the history of football. It is always a dream of a family for their children to be successful in life in whatever they do. It is always a dream to reach the pinnacle of success in your life endeavours.

How would you feel if your child died at the peak of his powers. This was what happened to the Chapecoense football team. So many families lost their children and their fathers tragically. Imagine the players of this football team telling their families (children, wives, mothers, fathers) and friends that they were going to bring the title home for them to celebrate and then they took off but they never achieved their goal and the next thing was that they were dead.

Chapecoense had been promoted to the Brazilian top flight two years ago and fast forward to 2016 they are already contesting for the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana.
All the hard work, the zeal, dedication and long suffering of everyone in this football team just went down the drain. This definitely will pull the football world down.

We will never get to see these players again
This kind of accident is not new to the world of football. We have had such accidents like the Munich air disaster and the Zambian national team disaster. This was humanity at its highest with 72 people on board and nine crew members on board.

A plane, which is believed to have had 72 passengers and nine crew onboard, came down in a mountainous area outside Medellin at 10.15pm local time, and it has since been confirmed that all but five people have died in the crash.
Chapecoense had been on their way to compete in the Copa Sudamericana final when their plane came down in Colombia, with the first leg having been scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening.
The club has been really depleted and a call has been made in South America for players to volunteer to join them. They still have players who couldn't make the journey that are still able to play but the ones that survived the accident maybe not be ready to play football their entire lives because the scar of the accident may still remain
All football in South America has since been suspended but it has been widely reported that Atletico Nacional have requested that Chapecoense be awarded the trophy as a mark of respect to their opponents.
Chapecoense had reached the final of the competition for the first time, just two years after they had earned promotion to Brazil's top flight.
A generation of winners, a generation of fighters, believers and underdogs just deleted. They will forever be remembered. Their works have impacted us and taught us that nothing is impossible. They will forever live in our hearts. Our hearts are with the Chapecoense football team, the grieving family and the whole football world.
