Payet's desire to leave West Ham United

The French midfielder Dimitri Payet has officially announced his desire not to play at West Ham, as revealed by Slaven Bilic on Thursday.

The Croatian coach has reiterated, however, that Payet, 29, best player of the team last season, will not leave the entity during the current transfer market in January. "We have said that we will not sell our best players. Dimitri Payet does not want to continue playing with us, but we will not sell it," Bilic insisted Thursday at a press conference.

"I've talked to the president and this is not a matter of money. We offered him a long-term contract (last year) because we wanted him to stay," added the coach. "Anyway, he will not train with us until he changes his attitude," he said.

Payet arrived in West Ham in June 2015 from Olympique Marseille for £ 10.7 million and in his first campaign he scored 12 goals and was named best player of the year by the Footballers' Union of England (PFA). In 2016, he made a great Eurocopa and entered the radar of several big clubs of the continent, but finally it continued in the West Ham, that did not want him to leave in the summer because they did not consider enough any offer.

Despite having registered 5 goals this term, the French international has not yielded to the level expected in this second campaign, and last Friday was left out of the team in the 0-5 loss at the hands of Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup.
